The Beginning of My Crochet Journey

I have been crocheting for more than 8 years. I have come a long way. It started when I watched a coworker crochet wedding favours. She taught me the difference between knitting and crochet.

The biggest obstacle for me to learn was that I was left-handed and most of the tutorials were taught by right-handed crocheters. With lots of practice and replaying YouTube videos, I learned the basics.

The first wearable item I made was the Puff stitch scarf for my friend’s birthday. (See photos above). I continued to learn through video tutorials where I became confident reading patterns and making more advanced projects.

The photos on the left are a variety of wearable garments that I made, some were more challenging than others. For those who are wanting to learn how to crochet, just know that it does take time to learn. I know it will get frustrating when you did not get it right the first time. Take a break from it and try again later.

I will provide some links below that helped me.

Feel free to message me if you have any other questions. 🙂 Melissa
